Ce petit glossaire a été conçu par Hercule Martin pour vous donner très rapidement le background minimum pour briller dans une entreprise multinationale d’origine anglo saxonne, lors de vos premiers pas ; ce vocabulaire de survie vous fera tout de suite repérer comme un HPM (High Potential Manager), mais vous devez auparavant travailler votre accent pour dissimuler votre côté indigène. Executive : littéralement, celui qui exécute (les mauvais éléments). Mot passe partout qui permet à un obscur sous fifre en voyage, de devenir business executive

Exposure : contraction de risk exposure ; souvent chiffré, parfois pertinent, rarement évalué à l’aune de son importance réelle. Le mot focalise souvent la contestation

Forecast : la chose la plus difficile à réaliser. Attention, danger ! Un forecast non tenu est une faute qui ne pardonne pas (voir commitment)

Growth : suit tout naturellement forecast

HC/HR : Headcount (le nombre de personnes), Human Ressources (idem). On est passé subrepticement en dix ans du HC au HR, politiquement beaucoup plus correct

Issue : ce n’est pas la sortie, sauf lorsqu’on s’y est très mal pris. Souvent critique (critical issue), il ne faut la mettre en évidence que si on a une bonne solution pour résoudre le problème

KPI (Key Performance Indicators) : il y en a toujours plusieurs (mais pas trop) ; ils sont les clés (du succès) et permettent de mesurer la performance de ceux qui n’ont pas participé à leur définition. Attention ! Ne pas les respecter deux fois de suite est dangereux

Leadership (par exemple, d’un projet) : ce qu’on vous demande de prendre, alors que vous ne vous y attendez pas, compte tenu de votre charge de travail
