Les nouvelles lois de la pesanteur

Votre entreprise privilégie bien souvent la rentabilité et le court terme. Dans un monde incertain, cela peut être sage jusqu'à une certaine limite. Dans ce domaine, Amazone (le site de ventes en ligne de ventes) joue depuis des années à contre courant, voire réinvente les lois de la pesanteur.

La revue Harvard Business Review a publié ces dernières semaines un interview de Jeff Bezons, le patron d'Amazone. Que nous dit-il ?

  1. Un investissement stratégique est un investissement qui met cinq à sept ans à être rentable. Il faut donc se poser la question : "est-ce que mon projet d'investissement est assez important pour avoir un impact sur l'entreprise en cas de succès ?"
  2. Pour choisir parmi tous vos projets d'investissement, l'erreur est de se demander ce qui va changer dans les cinq ans. "Nous cherchons plutôt à nous déterminer en fonction de ce qui ne va pas changer. Les variables de changement sont trop aléatoires. Par contre, des prix bas ou une livraison rapide sont une base plus sûre".
  3. Sur Amazone, vous pouvez acheter vos livres chez Amazone ou chez un de ses concurrents. Bien plus, le site accepte des critiques négatives sur les produits proposés. Jeff Bezos estime pour sa part que "son métier n'est pas de vendre, mais d'aider le client à prendre ses décisions d'achats".
  4. La culture d'entreprise est tournée vers le client et ne s'intéresse pas au concurrent. Pour Jeff Bezos, c'est la seule façon de ne pas être suiviste et de maîtriser le rythme du changement. Ainsi, chaque salarié doit effectuer chaque année un stage de deux jours au service relations clientèles.

Moralité : malgré une rentabilité insuffisante, Amazone a su se diversifier ces dernières années et se positionner sur toutes les grandes tendances de la toile :

  • La diversification en termes de produits proposés
  • L'extension géographique
  • L'incitation aux achats des clients
  • La localisation de ses infrastructures à ses concurrents.

Etonnant, Et pourtant, cela marche ! Quand proposez-vous cette stratégie à votre responsable ?
