Etes-vous fier ou honteux de votre ignorance ?

Le monde aujourd’hui offre de multiples voies pour se réaliser tant au niveau privé que professionnel. Trouver sa voie dans ce labyrinthe n’est pas chose aisée. Alors, êtes-vous plutôt ouvert ou fermé aux signaux faibles qui peuvent vous y aider ?

Savez-vous ce qu’est un sondage avec des données statistiques fiables ? Avez-vous lu Paul Léautaud ? Avez-vous été voir l’exposition consacrée à Basquiat ? En êtes-vous honteux ou fier ?

Pourquoi d’ailleurs ? Pour pouvoir briller en société ? Parce que cela vous est utile ? Parce que vous avez eu des messages durant votre enfance ou votre jeunesse du style : « tu dois savoir cela ! » ou « comment ! Tu ne sais pas cela ? » ? Nous avons souvent une pression sociale à ce sujet. Il est de bon ton d’avoir lu tel livre, vu tel film, voire même de l’apprécier (parce que la mode est là) même s’il vous a ennuyé.

Les évènements actuels du Japon sont illustratifs à la fois de notre ignorance et de notre curiosité sélective. Sur ce sujet, qu’avez-vous fait ? Avez-vous pris le temps d’en lire un peu plus ? De croiser les sources ? De vous interroger ou d’interroger les autres ou avez-vous simplement répété les « vérités » des médias ? Cela va plus loin : vous pouvez être indifférent à ce qui se passe au Japon (« c’est loin », « c’est leur problème ») ou au contraire vous y intéresser par sympathie (« j’admire leur courage »), par transposition (« nous avons en France des centrales construites elles aussi dans des zones inondables et / ou sismiques »), …

En fait, nous ne pouvons pas avoir tout lu, tout vu, tout entendu, tout savoir. Il n’y a pas de honte à ne pas savoir. Personne ne peut prétendre être un Pic de la Mirandole (personnage italien du XVème célèbre pour sa science) qui se targuait (ou à qui on a donné la prétention) de tout savoir. Vous avez le droit de ne pas savoir surtout s’il n’y a pas d’enjeu. Cette réflexion est transposable à notre évolution professionnelle :

Suis-je curieux de ce qui se passe autour de moi ?
Est-ce qu’une meilleure compréhension de mon environnement peut m’aider ?

Posez-vous la question : suis-je ouvert ou non à capter les signaux faibles qui me permettent de mieux me connaître, de comprendre mon environnement, de mieux capter les indices ou les opportunités qui s’offrent à moi ?
